Reward Flying Trip Reports on Lufthansa
German based Lufthansa is a worldwide elite airline and a founding member of Star Alliance along with United. With hubs in Frankfurt and Munich, you can reward fly from the United States to anywhere in the world on Lufthansa. Daily departures from most North American cities using a fleet of over 100 wide-body aircraft along with code share within North America and Europe on Star Alliance partners makes virtually every city across the Atlantic within reach flying the pride of Germany. And best of all, reward travel is plentiful.
Lufthansa flies both the 747-400 and the new 747-8i. In addition they have fourteen Airbus A380 double-deck aircraft flying internationally. At the end of 2016 they are set to receive the new Airbus A350 and in a few years will be the launch customer of Boeing's new 777-X. Reward Flying recommends your reward points for a Lufthansa flight.
Lufthansa Premium Class
Lufthansa offers a spectacular first class product, on the ground and in the air. Your first class cabin on any plane will be exclusive, having only 8 seats. While not enclosed suites, motorized privacy panels extend from the armrest allowing for a general airiness to the cabin with seclusion when desired.
Service is impeccable as you are greeted with champagne upon arrival. Caviar is a stable in Lufthansa first class. A multiple course meal will be served after you select from the many fine wines on board.
It is one flight you won't want to end.
At the end of 2015 Lufthansa completed a retrofit of all long haul aircraft with their new business class seats. These seats are the B/E Aerospace Diamond flat beds with 20 inches of width and extend 78 inches. There are no single seats as any column has 2, either 2x2, 2x2x2 or 2x3x2 configurations.
Angle placement varies on different aircraft. Somewhat controversial is the "A" placement, or "footsie class", where the seats are angled toward each other. Center seats and upper deck 747-8 business class seats are arranged this way. Check your seat map!

Additionally they have implemented what they call Lufthansa Business Class Restaurant Service as well. From ordering to serving on fine china your multi-course business class meal on Lufthansa takes on a new personal touch, much like you would receive at a fine restaurant. Menus are available for view before departure. Cuisines are selected based on destination or origin.
Entertainment consists of an airshow, over 100 movies and 200 TV shows in multi languages as well as music on headphones they provide.
Lufthansa First Class Terminal - Frankfurt International Airport
Lufthansa's main hub in Frankfurt, as well as the secondary hub in Munich, have a separate facility called the "First Class Terminal". Exclusive for first class passengers these facilities offer the utmost in luxury before boarding your flight. Once greeted by your own personal assistant you are welcome to dine from a buffet or made to order meal from the menu. Delicious food along with extensive liquor, wine, champagne, coffee and tea selections are for your enjoyment at no charge. After your meal there are sleeping facilities, massage, showers or baths where you receive your own Lufthansa rubber duck to take with. When it's time to board your personal assistant will find you and escort you to the departure area where you are whisked away in a Mercedes-Benz or Porsche to an exclusive elevator that takes you up to your plane, bypassing all the lines.
Business class passengers have beautiful lounges as well. Located throughout the terminals, Senator Lounges offer comfort, food, drink as well as shower facilities.
